Our most flexible solution
Offering either fully active, fully passive or a blend of both. Advisers can take a view on a class-by-class basis and, with a lower DFM fee on passive assets, enjoy more control over costs while offering their client a more personalised portfolio. The solution is rebalanced quarterly to keep risk in line with expectations.
Available in 10 Risk Grades
A choice of 10 Risk Grades allows you to find a portfolio mandate that lines up with your clients’ attitudes to risk.
Strategic Asset Allocation
A long term, stable asset allocation, built on our robust 20-year risk framework. Reviewed annually and fully diversified across 13 asset classes.
Flexibility
Choose whether you want active or passive for each asset class, so you can personalise your client’s portfolios according to their financial planning needs (excluding Diversified Alternatives and Managed Liquidity).
Established track record
Launched in 2009, our Multi-Option solution has an established track record. You can read more about this in our latest Investment Quarterly below.

Costs and charges
Our Multi-Option charges are simple and transparent. For our custody fee, when the total value of your client’s assets falls into a given band, they pay that charge for all their money, not just the proportion in that band.
Type | Charge |
---|---|
DFM charge | 0.12% - 0.24% (pro-rated to active/passive split) |
Dealing charge (for fund switches and rebalance purchases) | 0.45% (≈0.05% p.a.)* |
Parmenion SIPP charge | £18+VAT per quarter |
*Assumes a 12% turnover rate - for guidance only, actual turnover may be more or less than this amount
Custody band† | Charge |
---|---|
£0 - £299,999.99 | 0.30% |
£300,000.00 - £599,999.99 | 0.25% |
£600,000.00 - £1,499,999.99 | 0.20% |
£1,500,000.00 + | 0.15% |
†A minimum monthly custody charge of £5 per client applies. Cliff edge structure.
Here’s what your client might pay
For a £100,000 non-SIPP Multi-Option portfolio in Risk Grade 5, and an OCF as of the 31st December 2023
Custody | DFM Charge | Dealing* | OCF | Total | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Multi-Option (all active) | 0.30% | 0.24% | 0.05% | 0.61% | 1.14% |
Multi-Option (all passive) | 0.30% | 0.12% | 0.05% | 0.17% | 0.64% |
*Assuming a 12% turnover rate - for guidance only, actual turnover may be more or less than this amount
The multiple options on offer make this one of our most flexible solutions. Advisers can define the active and passive exposure within their client’s risk grade, giving them control over each client’s investment portfolio. Importantly, it also allows them - and their clients - some control of costs.
