“In my experience, the success of an investment team is never down to a single individual.
When you are in pursuit of good client outcomes, the more diverse views you bring to your scrutiny and focus, the better.
Bringing together people with different backgrounds, qualifications, maturity and experiences reduces the possibility of succumbing to ‘group think’.
And one thing that really helps debate, challenge and behaviour is female participation. Men and women are wired differently. To enrich our discussions and decision making, it is essential that we avoid solely male teams.
Women are known to view risk from a different perspective – often with a calmer eye and level-headedness that helps to identify balanced opportunity as much as sensible caution.
Having an investment team with a healthy proportion of female representation, as well as rich in professional qualifications and experience, puts us in a better position to make prudent yet pragmatic decisions for our investment solutions.
