10 things to consider when conducting platform due diligence

Platform due diligence has never been more important. With the FCA's Consumer Duty placing greater emphasis on delivering good client outcomes and demonstrating fair value, advisers need confidence that the platforms they recommend continue to meet the needs of both their business and their clients.

While cost will always be a consideration, it's only one part of the picture. Service quality, investment capability, technology, financial strength and governance all contribute to whether a platform can support clients over the long term.

If you're reviewing your platform proposition, here are ten key areas to consider and how Parmenion measures up against each one.

1. Does the platform suit your clients and target market?

Parmenion is built to support advisers serving a broad range of clients, from accumulation and complex decumulation needs, to high-net-worth clients.

The platform supports:

With over 76,000 end clients and 1,365 adviser firms, Parmenion supports a diverse adviser base with consistent servicing standards across different client segments.

The platform is designed to scale with client needs over time, supporting both straightforward investment journeys and more complex retirement planning requirements.

2. Investment platform cost and value for money

Parmenion's approach to value for money goes beyond headline pricing. By combining platform technology, investment capability and award-winning service in a single operating model, we help advisers deliver greater value to their clients.

Our integrated approach supports operational efficiency, reduces administration, and enables advisers to demonstrate Consumer Duty value assessments based on outcomes, not cost alone.

3. How good is the customer service and support?

Research suggests that nine out of ten advisers have had to apologise to clients because of poor platform service in the past year, highlighting just how much service quality can impact both adviser relationships and client experience.

Service quality is a core differentiator for Parmenion and is measured through clear operational metrics.

Behind those metrics are dedicated support teams that work closely with advisers throughout the client journey, from onboarding and technical queries to transfers, servicing and platform support. This gives advisers access to specialist expertise when they need it, helping them resolve issues quickly and deliver a smoother experience for their clients.

In 2025, Parmenion delivered:

  • 92% of calls answered within 20 seconds
  • 94% of emails responded to within 48 hours
  • Live chat rated 4.8/5 by advisers
  • 99.97% platform availability
  • 100% of new business processed within 24 hours

And it’s not just internal metrics that tell the story. Parmenion has received more than 50 industry awards and is rated first by both primary and secondary platform users across 12 metrics, including ease of use, reporting quality, and administrative accuracy (source: Investment Trends UK Adviser Technology & Business Report 2026).
