Create portfolios and cashpots faster

We're making it quicker and easier to manage client portfolios with our new portfolio and cashpot tool - launching Monday 28th September.

Available through the platform, our new tool streamlines a number of common administration tasks, helping you create portfolios and cashpots without having to follow longer application journeys.

What's changing?

The tool allows you to:

  • Create a new portfolio within an existing client wrapper
  • Set up a new General Investment Account (GIA)
  • Add a cashpot to an eligible wrapper where one doesn't already exist

This means fewer steps for advisers and a more efficient way to support clients as their needs evolve.

Why use the new tool?

The tool is designed to simplify common portfolio management tasks, helping you act quickly when client needs change.

It can also help when setting up retirement income. If a client has a PIA but no FIA portfolio, you can now create an FIA portfolio with a different solution and/or risk grade before requesting a PCLS withdrawal.

Helping clients hold cash when they need to

A cashpot allows clients to hold money outside of investments as part of their wider financial plan. This can be useful for short-term spending needs, planned withdrawals, or emergency funds. We pay interest on cash balances and don't apply charges.

Replacing existing journeys

In many scenarios, the new portfolio and cashpots tool can be used instead of Portfolio Builder or a split form, helping reduce administration and save time. Existing processes will still be needed for certain activities, such as opening new ISAs or SIPPs and some in-specie transfers.

When?

The new portfolio and cashpots tool will be available to advisers and paraplanners on Monday 28th September 2026.
