In late October, we're turning multi-factor authentication (MFA) on for all adviser Parmenion accounts, to make them as secure as possible.
What is MFA?
MFA is an extra layer of security. As well as your username and password, you'll be asked to approve a notification you'll receive on your phone.
MFA significantly reduces the likelihood of an unauthorised person accessing your and your clients' data. Read more about why it's important here.
What's the process?
Once it's switched on, you'll be asked to follow some simple set up steps when you log in. It only takes a couple of minutes, and you only need to do the set-up once:
- Enter your login details as normal.
- You'll see the MFA set up screen and be asked to download the Parmenion app on your mobile device.
- Follow the simple instructions on your computer screen.
Can i set up MFA now?
Yes! Just download the Parmenion app, log in to the app using your Parmenion login details and that’s it. MFA is switched on.
Can I opt out?
When you're asked to set up MFA in October, you'll be given the option to opt-out. This does mean your account is at a higher risk of being compromised, compared to those with MFA, so we'd advise against it.
