Our team attended the Personal Finance Society’s 2024 national conference at Manchester Central on Tuesday 12th November. With a ‘Rewired – Planning for a hybrid world’ theme, there was a packed agenda of sessions delving into how financial services can navigate the changing needs of our customers.
This is one of the largest financial services events of the year, and it was great to meet so many advisers and partners already working with Parmenion, as well as all the new faces keen to understand what makes Parmenion different. Speaking with delegates throughout the day, a consistent topic of discussion was the speaker sessions and how they tackled living in a hybrid world.
F1’s Guenther Steiner and Karun Chandhok talked about F1’s work in retaining its core audience and appealing to younger generations. They highlighted the shift needed in the financial sector to attract new advisers into the profession. They also drew attention to the importance of getting people to start thinking about personal finances from an early age.
Jason Bates, tech entrepreneur and co-founder of Monzo and Starling delivered a hugely insightful session on how to drive digital transformation. This sparked huge interest in the audience with so many companies looking to improve efficiency and reduce costs by embracing digital technology. Many of the advisers we spoke to agreed a hybrid approach delivers the best outcome. However, many reinforced the time and security benefits of moving to digital with clients who are hesitant to make the switch.
With 1,200 attendees, it was a non-stop event – our team particularly enjoyed chatting to delegates about the importance of great platform service. With our 2024 report launching at the end of November, it's clear platform service matters more than ever. If you'd like to be amongst the first to see this year's research, please get in touch.
