Our ESG workshops are underway!
For financial professionals only
Outstanding reviews all round for our ESG in Practice workshop. Book your place in London on Tuesday 4th October here.
It was such a treat to welcome our guests to the first in our series of ESG in Practice workshops with Mollie Thornton and Carla Langley this week. It’s the first in-person event we’ve hosted since before the pandemic, and what better place to tackle the realities of ESG than one of the UK’s most sustainable buildings – our offices in Aurora, Bristol.
The workshop delved straight into the risks for adviser firms in delivering an ESG proposition and how they can be overcome, with some great insight from Carla on effective triage.
Sometimes, hands-off sharing of information can be a great starting point. Mollie reminded us that when it comes to cutting your carbon, making your pension green is 21 x (yes, twenty one times) more effective than giving up flying, going veggie or changing your energy provider (1) – though good conversations need to go beyond these eye-catching headlines.
We then looked at how firms can evidence competence in ESG advice, with a particular eye on consumer duty and clear client segmentation. And, having exposed the risks and challenges, we turned our attention to what we can do to help, with advice on fund due diligence, confident communication and quality collateral.
The session ended with a lively discussion on how we can all be more sustainable businesses, with some great examples on improving a firm’s ESG credentials.
Next stop for the ESG Workshop team is beautiful Yorkshire, and then we’ll be back in central London on Tuesday 4th October. For more information, contact Chris Mackay or book your place via Eventbrite.
